Early Care and Learning plan presentation

Dear UBC Child Care Staff and Parents:

Do you have concerns about child care in BC, such as the lack of access to high quality care, or other issues? Did you spend a long time on a wait list for child care? Are you worried that there are too many people having to choose sub-standard care for their children? The Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC and the Early Childhood Educators of BC have put together a well-researched plan based on concerns they have heard from people all over the province. They are presenting it to the provincial government, and would like to hear your feedback (and garner your support if possible, to help put pressure on the government to change the situation). The plan allows for $10 per day child care and $25 per hour average wage for child care workers. The UBC Child Care Parent Council has arranged for them to give a presentation on this plan that is free and open to anyone and everyone.

When: Tuesday, Jan. 17, 7pm
Where: UBC Child Care Main Office, in the gym

Please RSVP if you plan to come, so we know how many handouts to have available: daycareadvocacy@gmail.com

Hope to see you there!

Christina Hendricks
President, UBC Child Care Parent Council
