Four of our Aphasia Mentors were also Health Mentors this year.
For 1.5 years, they work with interdisciplinary groups of healthcare students.
On Monday, they presented their work.
Jack’s Group – “Support and recovery comes through a great sense of humour, a positive outlook, and strong self- and family-advocacy”.
Bruce’s Group – “Communication is the crux of healthcare; it is the tipping point between positive and negative experiences. How can we improve our system?”
Skip’s Group – “My mind is like a Home Depot store; everything is in there, it just takes more time to find it”.
Rob’s Group – “It’s in there, but I can’t get it out…”
