Conflict Resources @UBC

Conflict Theatre Resource List

This is a list of some of the services provided to the staff, faculty, and students at UBC. This is not an exhaustive list; for that please refer to the UBC Equity and Inclusion Office list of resources.

Wellness Centre

The Wellness Centre provides support, answering questions about health, provides resources for health-related concerns on and off-campus, answers questions about sexual health and sexuality, and provides workshops and education.

Equity and Inclusion

Equity and Inclusion works to create a community in which human rights are respected, and equity and inclusion are embedded in all areas of UBC. They provide Human Rights and Conflict Advising, Training, and Education.

Centre for Accessibility

The Centre for Accessibility aids people with an ongoing medical condition, including chronic mental health issues, or disabilities that impact their access to campus activities, as well as those who receive academic or other disability-related accommodations. The Centre for accessibility facilitates disability-related accommodations and programming initiatives.

Early Alert

The Early Alert system encourages people to reach out to UBC to provide support and resources for members of the UBC Community to staff, students, and faculty sooner rather than later. This pre-emptive program is paired with the Orange Insert program that responds to and provides resources to Faculty and Staff who may be experiencing high stress or mental health issues.

Counselling Services

The Employee and Family Assistance Program provides confidential counselling support for employees of UBC and their dependent family members to resolve a wide range of personal, work, health, or life issues. They provide clinical counselling and work-life consultations.

UBC Sexual Violence Presentation and Response Office

SVPRO is a safe and confidential place for anyone who has experienced sexual violence, regardless of where or when it took place. This includes any attempt or act of a sexual nature without your consent. They help people find a safe place to stay, coordinate workplace accommodations e.g. arranging leave, explain your reporting options, and accompany you to the hospital, police, or court.

Safewalk

Safewalk provides driving and walking teams to accompany students, staff, and visitors walking across campus after dusk, helping them feel safe while travelling from one location to another. Safewalk provides a co-ed group of volunteers to escort people across campus after dark and in the early morning.
