Mornings

A long time ago, in a savannah far, far away, there [[was an elephant]].

When Anook was born in the middle of the night, there was an //aurora borealis// - a glowing, cloud-like mist in the air that seemed to dance to and fro. It was quite unusual to see the //aurora borealis// in the savannah, so Anook's Mummy and Dadda wondered if it was a special sign about their baby girl. And when she arrived, they were right! She seemed to have captured parts of the colourful sky all over her body. [[Far and wide]] Is it time to go yet? Get your [[jacket and boots]]!

Some people didn't like what they saw, and [[they started saying things because Anook looked different]]. Others came by to offer their congratulations, and [[celebrate the birth of a new baby elephant]]. And when word spread around the savannah that a colourful elephant was born, animals from far and wide came to see for themselves. [[Pigeon]]

What //is// that elephantstrosity!

One of the animals was a pigeon named //Pigeon//. He flew from his nest at the top of a boab tree, all the way to Anook's family hangout. As he flew overhead, he could see lots of different kinds of animals in a [[circle all around Anook]]. He flew [[around]]

And around. And as he flew he noticed that the animals were moving in a circle too. OH NO - time to go! Get your [[jacket and boots]]!

In many ways, this was an ordinary elephant - she had a trunk, she had big, floppy ears, she loved playing in the water, and she had a little baby brother, a mummy, and a dadda. [[Next page]]

Anook was much like every other elephant her age except for one, exceptional thing - she was purple, green, brown, and blue. [[Aurora borealis]]
