Top Fifty (50) Twitter Users in Medicine

One reference question I’m getting lately is “Can you recommend some of the top people in your Twitter network?” For those wanting to explore Twitter – lists such as this top 50 might help them (and you as a librarian) get started.

The question itself lends credence to my assertion that health librarians who use social media can at least answer questions like these – and not just refer them on. However, are there any useful tools to help us evaluate who is worthwhile following? Or what medical blogs are ‘high impact’ or valuable? Not really – that’s why I’ll be writing about this soon.

In the meantime, here are ~twenty-five of my more “favourable” tweeters. It’s part I of a Top Fifty Twitter Users List in Medicine so stay tuned for part II.
