The new “Web 2.0 in medicine at UBC” listserv

As many of you know, I use social media as a tool to help lifelong learners and researchers at UBC learn and collaborate over information. In the Faculty of Medicine, where information flow is critical to evidence-based practice, I am seeing more and more students, residents and faculty using social technologies such as Facebook, Twitter and wikis to communicate and exchange information on mobile devices In addition, I serve on a great committee with a group of early adopters who are developing a new course on using web 2.0 tools in health.

To increase the uptake of social media and web 2.0 at the University of British Columbia, and within medicine specifically, I have created a new listserv called web2med-ubc”  or web 2.0 in medicine @ UBC. If you are interested in using web 2.0 tools in your practice as a health professional, or as a student, let me know and I’ll sign you up.
