I am in the process of building a pathfinder, hunting down secondary sources and references for an emeritus faculty member (who in his 80s has a sharp memory) who was hired by the UBC Faculty of Medicine in the 1950s.
Notice that pulling together sources, even at an early stage, is fascinating – as you read through the pathfinder, consider how much information sheds light on the history of our city, Vancouver General Hospital and surgery in the province (pre-1950 and founding of UBC medical school).
Note the many “known” names: the naming of Vancouver streets owes much to the history of medicine in BC and surgeons.
