Subject: Peer Review of Writing with ‘You’ Attitude Assignment

I have reviewed your “Writing with ‘You’ Attitude” assignment. You have done an excellent job at giving Evan Crisp tips on writing an email to a professor. However, I would like to offer some suggestions for you to review.

First Impressions:

Your memo is concise but constructive. Most importantly, you have successfully applied the “You-attitude” in your assignment.

Organization:

Your memo is well-organized. The introduction outlines the purpose of your memo, and the conclusion indicates the reasons. The use of point form in the body efficiently lists all your recommended practices.

Content:

You may want to consider adding a short line in the introduction, greeting Evan and thanking him for his message. In doing so, it will make your message sound friendlier.

I enjoy reading your list of best practices. I believe it’s helpful for anyone who tries to write professional emails. Another tip you could add that will help Evan Crisp with writing an effective email is to avoid adding any extraneous personal details in the email.

Conclusion:

Overall I think your memo is positive and helpful. You have successfully followed the required writing style and crafted a memo that is precisely what is prescribed for Evan. I hope my minor suggestions are helpful to you. Thanks again for letting me review your work and please don’t hesitate to email me at j.zhang.8@alumni.ubc.ca if you have any comments or questions.
