MET Graduates – November 2009
Nov 25th, 2009 by Dave Roy
Just wanted to wish a hearty congratulations to the 37 MET degree students (34 from UBC and 3 from ITESM) who will be crossing the stage today! Either the actual stage, or the figurative stage, as many of our graduates are unable to attend today’s ceremony. That’s one of the things about an online program: many of our students are from far away and are unable to come (though we do have a travel grant for them to attend, if they are able to swing everything else).
We’re having a get-together for a few of them after the ceremony, and it will be an honour finally meeting most of them (I have already met the occasional student). I’m really looking forward to it, as well as watching the ones who are here cross the stage. That can be done at the UBC Graduation page, by clicking on “Live Webcast”. The ceremony starts at 12:30 Vancouver time, so you can watch your fellow graduates walk across the stage if you can’t be there!
Again, our heartfelt congratulations, and our best wishes to you as you take the knowledge that you learned and go out and apply it. We hope you do keep in touch with us and let us know how you are doing, what you are up to, and all of that.
