Down the Hall – Episode 15 – If you want to destroy the Earth…
Jul 29th, 2011 by Dave Roy
and we’re not talking alien invasions.
We’re back!
After a month-long absence (where we’re sure you’ve missed us terribly), Down the Hall is back on the air. Dave is back from vacation and out from under all the work that was waiting for him when he came back (though not as much there could have been, thanks to Jenny and Linda Haftner).
In this week’s episode, while we don’t have an interview, we do explore fostering environmental citizenship in the K-12 classroom. We have some great suggestions on fun ways to get kids involved, and to keep them involved, so they can maintain an environmentally sustainable lifestyle. Bring those recycled throw-away objects from home and turn them into awesome Art projects!
There are so many ways that you can help your students become aware of sustainability issues, but in a fun and interesting way.
Also, a shout-out to Jeff Miller, one of the mainstays in the Master of Educational Technology program, for his President’s Staff Award for Leadership and Creativity!
Finally, we mention some of the great stuff going on in EPLT right now.
All of this after a rocky start because Dave is rusty after being away for a month.
