“Concerns” – An Olive Branch
Dr. [removed],
Obviously I am not a sedentary individual. I have often earned the name “firebrand”, a fact which you can now ratify. Due to my hotblooded nature, it is not uncommon for me to ruffle feathers or (in some cases) wage an outright assault on an individual. I fear that I may have let my pugnacity get the best of me in this exchange, something I apologize profusely for. However, not all is lost: observe that two good things have come from this exchange.
The first is that I have registered my discontent about the format in question (this was my primary goal and I think that I accomplished it). The second is that we have had an exchange where both of us have been forced to think and consider the other’s argument. This instance of mutualism is uncommon in a world where people seem content to simply accept things as they are and never question why things have to be a certain way; UBC is a place of mind. I wholeheartedly thank you for this opportunity, and I hope that you, too, have gotten some amount of amusement from my spirited writing. I did try to apply some of the concepts we learned in class to my second letter, albeit in an unconventional way…perhaps you will get some chuckles from this.
Thank you for keeping an open mind while corresponding with me, and I certainly will be prepared for the formats on the next exam.
Sincerely,
Julian

Good on you for taking initiative
I wouldn’t confront a prof on something like this. Usually, at least. XD

Though I do think it’s great that you expressed your concerns, this third letter was a good idea. Second letter might have offended him, as it seemed you were lecturing him, not on test making, but actual science.
Bonne chance!

Julian- I would really sympathize with you if you didn’t sound like a pompous ass.

Hard to sympathize with stupidity, either way.

This letter was a good idea to write. It stops making you seem like a jerk, just someone not afraid to question the prof. I agree that it’s good not to be the kind of person who will calmly sit by and accept something even if they disagree. More people need to be brave enough to speak their mind. But maybe try not to sound so self-righteous like in your previous letter.

I find it hard to sympathize with Martin.

Why would I want your sympathy? You are just some stranger’s name on the Internet. For all I know, you can be a fat bum sitting right now at East Hasting Salvation Army’s internet kiosk.

Hi everyone
Just introduce myself: I am a man (says my wife), I am 50 years old (hmm, that looks bad isn’t it?) and I am a terrible bad programmer (I say myself).
My hobbies: computer (of course), my 17 years old son and of course my wife. I like to play billiard, I do a very little bit and very simple programming in VB and I try to make a site for my billiard-club in the near future.
thanks, John from Online Payday Today.
