Go to the discussion board and post to the forum “10 words” the first 10 words that come to your mind when you think of “Tsunami” or “Flood”.

Click on the link to play “Disaster Stop” (Flood and/or Tsunami scenario)
Read the instructions before starting. Your goal is to spend your budget in the allotted time to limit damage and save as many lives as you can! When you are finished read your report from the game.
Step 3:
Read through the Tsunami or Flood fact sheets. Think about how these scenarios could affect your community. Feel free to explore the resources at the bottom of the document.
Step 4:
Go to the discussion board and post in the “Disaster Stop” forum. Share your score(s) and how many lives you saved. Were you successful? What did you do in the game that led to your success or failure?
Step 5:
Read at least two of your classmates posts about their experiences in the game and comment on them.
Step 6:
Read through the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s five pillars of emergency management
Step 7:
Watch the video and read the news story of the Alberta government putting measures in place to help Sunnyside residents
Step 8:
Go to the discussion board and post in the “Five Pillars of Emergency Management” forum. What stages of the five pillars of emergency management were being addressed by the Alberta government? Can you think of any other measures to improve the plan to help members of this community?
Step 9:
Read and comment on at least two of your classmates posts in the “Five Pillars of Emergency Management” forum.
Step 10:
Go to the discussion board and comment on your previous post in the “10 words” forum. Post 10 words that come to your mind now when you think of “Tsunami” or “Flood”. Did your list change from your first 10 words?
