The required reading for next week (October 3-7) is Leften Stavrianos, “India Enters the Third World,” in Global Rift: The Third World Comes of Age (New York: William Morrow, 1981), pp 230-252. Other information for the course is available at www.geog.ubc.ca/courses/geog121. A reminder that I will not be in on Friday 7 October. We will have an in-class review session for the mid-term exam, run by your TAs. I will not have an office hour that day but will have my usual hours on Monday 3 October (2-4 PM) and will have an additional hour on Wednesday 5 October from 10:30-11:30 AM.
