May is for Mental Health

Posted by: | April 7, 2011

I just wanted to send a little thank you to the UBC folks on campus who are taking part in the Miles for Mental Health Run that is a fundraiser for the Canadian Mental Health Association (Simon Fraser Branch).  Miles for Mental Health Run is a run against mental health stigma and meant to raise awareness for mental health. It’s on May 7 in Queen’s Park in New West.

Interested in supporting the UBC team? Check out their Facebook page or contact Rachelle Kahwaji (creator of the UBC team) at

On other mental health news, Mental Health Week is coming up soon! It runs from May 1-7 and there’s a ton of events going on (including the Mental Health Run that I mentioned above). Consider downloading a free toolkit on the Mental Health Week website and putting up a display at your office, community centre etc, and be an advocate for mental health literacy!
