For when things go wrong…
To create a new post, first make sure you are logged in to your blog.
This will take you to the dashboard where you find all blog controls available to your account. Click on Write and start writing! Don’t forget to select one or more Categories to describe your post. To make your post appear on the blog, change Publish Status (box on the right) from Unpublished to Published and press the Publish button. (how many times can one use ‘publish’ in a sentence???)
The editor looks something like this:
You might notice that there’s not much in terms of editing functions. But wait – simply click on the Show/Hide Kitchen Sink button, et voila!
To edit an existing post, go to Manage (to the right of Write). Click on the post that you want to edit. Fun note: You can check the number of views for each post! Just click on the little graph icon under Stats.
Want to add photos to your blog post? Create a new post, and look for the Add media buttons along the top of the editor. Click on Add an Image:
To add an image file from your computer:
Click on Choose files to upload, and select the image file. You can try messing around with the settings, but all you probably need to change is the alignment and the size. Click on Insert into Post.
To upload a file from the internet:
Copy-paste the URL of the image (e.g. http://www.100xr.com/100_XR/Artists/M/Muse/Muse.jpg) into Image URL. Click on Insert into Post.
To add an image file that you’ve previously uploaded:
Go to Media Library under Image. Find the file you want, and click Show. Change settings as needed. Don’t forget to click Insert into Post.
To upload a document or other file type:
Create a new post, and click on the Add media button (the little star symbol next to the music symbol). Everything else is the same as it would be for an image, except you can’t change the alignment.
