Yammer.com is like a private social networking feed, just for students in the class. It is available to use for questions, discussions, announcements–both during and outside of class time. Send the instructor an email (jessica.main(a)ubc.ca) with your preferred email address to be added to the class Yammer.
Turnitin.com is an online assignment submission system. Although one of its functions is to check the originality of submitted work, it is paperless, has a streamlined grading and markup system, and best of all: has grammar and citation tools for students. Because Turnitin.com is an American company, UBC has a set provided a set of instructions for students. This is where you will submit coursework and keep track of your grades.
