Prospect Research Assistant

2 Days/week

Pay: $15/hour

Starting: ASAP

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Foundation’s Prospect Research & Analysis Officer
  • Analyzing the names of potential donors using online software programs such as iWave, Big Database, Noza, etc.;
  • Reviewing the Foundation’s research queue, and specific prospects in Major Gift fundraiser portfolios, to prepare initial research analysis for these prospects;
  • Creating initial research profile documents using the outcome of this research;
  • Reviewing public lists of potential donors such as Business In Vancouver’s Top 100 lists; Report on Business;
  • Reviewing lists of donors to other healthcare organizations and charities, and updating the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation’s database, if appropriate;
  • Creating google alerts and/or RSS feeds for members of the Foundation’s leadership and/or Major Gifts team;
  • Review Business in Vancouver, Report on Business, and the Financial Post for new corporate appointments and/or significant business transactions. Completing initial research analysis on these prospects;
  • Updating and maintaining records in the Foundation’s database, Raiser’s Edge, as needed;
  • Assists Prospect Research & Analysis Officer as required with project overflow support
  • Performs administrative duties as required.

Required Skills/Attributes:

  • Experience with research and analysis is an asset
  • Detail-oriented with good analytical skills
  • Multi-tasking, demonstrated organizational and time management skills and proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function efficiently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of donor database systems (RE is an asset)
