Purpose of the project:
The purpose of the project is to archive 30 years of dance history at Mascall Dance.
Summary of activities required to carry out the project:
Research the specific of dance company archival needs.
Assess the timeline of the archival project
Identify the materials required.
Create a budget.
Project Management of Archival Project.
Expectations of the end result of the project, for both host and student:
This project will give the student an insight into a dance company and enter niche area of dance company archives. There is an opportunity for the student to develop a skill that would otherwise not be learned.

The host will have the company’s history archived in a way that the company can review, reflect and disseminate the information to our audience and general public.

Time periods in which the project could be supervised (check all that apply):
  • Winter Term 1 (September – December)
  • Winter Term 2 (January – April)
  • Summer Session, Term 1 (May – June)
  • Summer Session, Term 2 (July – August)
Is there a deadline by which the project must be completed?
Ideally, the next 12 months.
Considering the project requirements, please suggest suitable coursework as pre-requisite or co-requisite: (e.g. LIBR 580 Collection Management, ARST 515 Arrangement & Description of Archival Materials.)
