About the Journal

The Indigenous Studies Undergraduate Journal is produced by and for undergraduate students, as an opportunity for publication of undergraduate works in the field of Indigenous studies. ISUJ is produced out of the University of British Columbia and the First Nations Studies Student Association at UBC. We therefore want to recognize the traditional and unceded territory of the Musqueam people that we gather on and are guests of.

Although the journal is focused on Indigenous studies, it is interdisciplinary in nature, and promotes productive conversation, engagement, and mutual understanding. The journal publishes both academic and creative works from a multiplicity of perspectives and backgrounds. Through publication, the journal aims to bring visibility to the importance and value of Indigenous studies in the Academy.

The Journal will be launched in the January 2014. Submissions for this issue are now closed.
