UBC Library Journal Club

The Future of Collection Development

without comments

This session of the Journal Club will highlight some of the current issues and trends in collection development in academic libraries.  Brenda Peterson (HSS) will begin the discussion with a brief “interview” with Jo Anne Newyear Ramirez, Associate University Librarian for Collections at UBC Libraries, who recently returned from the XXX Annual Charleston Conference which provided unique insight into the potential future of Canadian academic library collections.

Jo Anne will discuss the larger picture of collection development as it relates to format, budgets, usage, and the needs of a diverse academic community.  There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion during this session.
