At 8:00 am on February 2, 2010 the first blows will be delivered to the old law school building.

Alumni and members of the profession are invited to join Dean Mary Anne Bobinski, Faculty, Students and Staff at an informal gathering to watch as the bulldozers rev-up and work begins on bringing down the building.

All those interested in watching the work commence are asked to meet on the grassy hill of the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts across the street from 1822 East Mall.

A formal concrete pouring event is planned for April 15, 2010 (details to come).

On October 16, 2009 the UBC Law First Year Class of 1959 (Graduating Class of 1962) returned to the law school half a century later to entertain a representative group of members of the First Year Class of 2009 to lunch.  This unique event  provided an opportunity for members of the alumni class to discuss with those entering law school today their own experience in the law, and their views on promising opportunities for those entering the profession in the coming decade, and hear from members of the new First Year Class their hopes and expectations for law school and their careers in the law.

The students who were lucky enough to attend this event will be organizing another event for the two classes in March 2010.
