Preventing and Responding to Sexual Violence Workshop

Dear Students,

GSS and SVPRO are putting together a workshop in the Thea Koerner House that will teach participants how to support someone, who discloses sexual assault.

Participants will practice techniques to respond to and support survivors, understand the difference between disclosure and reporting and their role and responsibilities.  Discussion of barriers and myths that impede disclosing will also be included

We have only 12 spots available, so hurry and reserve your spot by sending an email to aa@gss.ubc.ca by Thursday August 23rd, 2018.

Thank you and looking forward to seeing you at this important workshop!

PBL Workshop for TAs

Problem-based Learning (PBL) Workshop

 for TAs in LFS

Problem

based learning (PBL) is a technique that prompts groups of students to carefully analyse a problem to determine what they need to start solving the problem. It requires a different skillset from ‘normal’ TAing.

Come  join us for a morning to find out what PBL is, what makes it unique, and how you can succeed in serving as a TA in a PBL course.

While the workshop is designed to support TAs in PBL, all TAs are welcome to participate to enhance your teaching skill in learner-centered environment.

The  workshop will be on Friday, September 7, from 9:30 am to 12:20 pm, in FNH Room 300. Registration is required. Please let us know your name, TA experience, and your goals for this workshop by completing this registration form.

MSc graduate student at UC Vet Med – animal health economics

Standard

May I ask you to please circulate/post the attached call for applicants for an MSc graduate student in our Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dept. of Ecosystem and Public Health at the University of Calgary. The research is investigating the economic impact and mitigation strategies related to infectious bronchitis of poultry in Canada. A veterinary degree is *not* required for this MSc position, but would be useful; a student with a background in agriculture and/or economics would also be an excellent fit.
