3. Fill the form and please read info given on this form.
4. Application must be submitted by June 20th and acceptance of offer must be sent by July 15th to ensure that your first paycheck will not be delayed. (Note: if you miss these deadlines, you can still be hired, BUT there is a possibility of delay for your first paycheck).
5. We will start sending offers by July 2nd and offers will continue until all positions are filled. Please check your email daily so that you can reply to our offer promptly.
6. Do not forget to get permission from your PI to TA for Biology.

The Climate Teaching Connector, a collaboration between UBC Climate Hub and the UBC Sustainability Initiative, is recruiting 6 UBC graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with teaching experience and expertise in climate change-related topics to join a cohort of 15 Climate Experts delivering paid guest lectures in undergraduate classes. The LFS Graduate & Postdoctoral Office is offering mandatory annual Academic & Wellness Check in’s with all research-based students (these check-in’s are also available for all professional program students as well, on a voluntary basis).  These individual zoom meetings will cover several topics including academic progress, funding, and wellbeing.

As access to our office has been restricted due to COVID,  it’s important that you feel supported by us and that you are aware of resources and services available to you, even if most of you still aren’t on campus.

My name is Mahsa Khalili and I am part of Student Services for the Interdisciplinary Graduate Student Network (iGSN) at UBC. The iGSN serves as a platform to connect grad students across various disciplines. We organize academic as well as social events to promote interdisciplinary mingling. We also provide travel awards to well-deserving candidates who choose to apply. You can find more information on our website: http://igsnubc.com/.

For our upcoming social event, we will gather over zoom to make mug cakes and play online games. We would love it if you could promote our event among the graduate students community of your department in an effort to educate more grads about our resources and give them an opportunity to socialize among like-minded peers. This could be a good platform for new grads to make new friends during the COVID-19 restrictions.

Summer is coming!!! Hopefully it brings back in-person days as well. As we all wrap up work, iGSN thought it would be a good idea to have a small celebration. Why do we say celebrate??? Because we have survived more than a year of pandemic + grad school.
