Keeping current with new research in your field can be a challenge. In this workshop, you’ll learn strategies and tools to help you stay up-to-date with the published literature. We’ll cover: How to create saved search alerts for new articles and dissertations on your topic, how to set up Table of Contents alerts for your favourite journals, how to find out when a key article has been cited by someone else, how to use social media tools such as blogs and Twitter to hear the buzz around new research. Managing citations doesn’t have to be complicated, confusing, and time-consuming. This hands-on workshop will teach you how to store, organize, and retrieve your citations. Detailed instruction on how to set up your account, how to organize your citations, and how to use Mendeley’s powerful PDF mark-up capability will be provided. Instructor: Stefania Alexandru

Introduction to MedLine (on OVID)

This is an introductory workshop that offers basic techniques for more efficient and accurate searching in MedLine and the OVID Interface. MedLine is the premier biomedical database with over 23 million journal articles. The OvidSP interface allows structured searching and revision of search histories, among other advanced functionality. Concepts covered will include keyword and MeSH searching, using limiters, and the PICO search strategy. Instructors: James Murphy and Paige Hohmann
