UBC Bus Loop Renovation: Summer 2014 – 2016

The UBC Bus Loop is changing in July 2014 due to construction of the new UBC Aquatic Centre starting on MacInnes Field.

Pedestrian and cyclist access to the bus loop will be restricted starting in July.

The bus loop transformation is part of UBC’s long term plan to revitalize the social heart of the Vancouver campus which includes the new and existing SUB, Alumni Centre, Aquatic Centre, MacInnes Field, Gage South student housing and surrounding outdoor spaces.

Five bus stops and street parking will be moved to new locations in two phases:

  • Phase 1: 44, 84, 258 and 480 bus stops will move to Wesbrook Mall
  • Phase 2: 99 B-Line bus stop will move to a new bay within the bus loop.
  • Car2go parking will move north of its current location.

Please refer to the map attached to see the new bus stop locations, and to help you choose the best route to access the bus loop. The parking lot east of the current Aquatic Centre will be closed once construction begins. Public parking will be available north of the GSAB building, accessible from Wesbrook Mall.  There will also be 15 minute drop off parking along the north side of War Memorial Gym
