Research and Instructional Support Update

During the Fall 2008 term, the Lam Librarians have taught:

15 orientation sessions and workshops:

  • 4 undergraduate orientations
  • 1 ECM orientation
  • 1 MMOR student orientation
  • 4 MBA orientation workshops
  • 4 individual orientations with new PhD students
  • 1 Korean Executive Education student orientation

19 class specific presentations and workshops:

  • 16 BCom classes
  • 1 ECM class
  • 2 Sales & Marketing Executive classes

5 research related workshops:

  • 4 Do the Research; Get the Job session for MBAs
  • 1 RefWorks for Business Researchers session
  • 2 Sales & Marketing Executive classes

The librarians have also provided research support:

  • Coached 20 groups of first year MBA students in research for their Project 2: Business Plan and answered approximately 100 questions relating to the projects.
  • Answered over 1500 questions from students at our reference desk.

Digital Media and Marketing Videos from eMarketer

Are you looking for short digital media and marketing videos for teaching? eMarketer, a market research database available through the library, which is focused on Internet, e-business, online marketing, media and emerging technologies, includes several short videos on digital media and marketing topics, with new videos added to the database every week.

Recent video topics include online holiday shopping, mobile TV, online consumer spending and behavioral targeting.

Click here to access eMarketer through the Library website. Once in the database, click on the Video link at the top right to browse or search the video collection.

New from Statistics Canada - Environmental Protection Expenditures by Business, 2006

This report presents the results from the Survey of Environmental Protection Expenditures and highlights expenditures related to regulations, and environmental management processes and technologies used by Canadian businesses.
