Code.org is a non-profit organization committed to growing computer programming education. The founders (Hadi and Ali Partovi) published an article in today’s Huff Post Education that argued that one of the ways to fix the (American) economy is to teach students how to code. What do you think?

The Faculty of Education and the Department of Language and Literacy Education are kicking off Black History Month with a conversation with Dr. Carl E. James- the highly regarded scholar known for his work in ethnically and racially diverse communities.

A research study conducted by a professor in UBC’s Faculty of Education in collaboration with UC-Riverside has found that when children engage in small acts of kindness they experience a surge in happiness, and this may help to decrease bullying.
