Taylor & Francis ebooks:

UPDATE: PROBLEM RESOLVED.

Please clear the history (cache & cookies) from your browser if you had a recent problem with Taylor & Francis ebooks.

Off-Campus access via EZproxy is down. We are working on it. Stay Tuned!

Certain ebook URLs are breaking and leading to the Off-Campus AccessOops” page (even when users are on campus).

Mostly, these are ebooks that were on the old eBook Library platform (retired some time ago) and are now on the ProQuest eBoook Central platform.

We are working on the issue and hope for a solutions soon.

If faced with this error message, please try searching for the ebook HERE .

Please report any problems via our Help Form.

The Ulrichsweb link (under hypertext “Title details from ulrichsweb.com” from the eJournal Portal’s result page is currently leading to the error message:

We do not have enough information.

We are working to resolve the issue.

You can still get to Ulrichsweb to see information about journals via our Resource page, and then search for the journal from there.

UPDATE! Science Direct is tweeting that the issue is resolved. If you are still having problems:

  1. clear the history (cache & coolies) from your browser and try again
  2. report via the Help Form below if problems continue

The ScienceDirect platform from Elsevier is experiencing intermittent problems.

Sometimes there is an error message “Sorry, your request cannot be processed…” sometimes a log-in screen.

We are working on a solution. Please report any problems to our Help Form.

UPDATE – log-in to Usernames & Passwords working as expected now.

Certain online resources require additional log-in information – like a Username & Password that is shared by everyone. This info is usually hidden and requires Users to log into a secondary level.

For example, access to the BC Building Code (click here). You need to log in to get the Username & Password to access the Code… but it isn’t working.

A ticket has been submitted, and we hope that access to these types of resources (that have a hidden page with additional log-in info) can be fixed soon.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Sorry to report that a number of Cambridge eBooks are linking to the wrong title.

A fix is in the works.

If this happens to you, go to the Cambridge Core eBooks site and do a search from there.

UPDATE! All seems to be well. Report any problems to our Help Form.

Summon has launched a new interface. However, it hasn’t gone well. Links from results are broken, leading to an error message. Hopefully, a fix is coming soon. Stay Tuned!

oxford logoDue to a change in how URLs are formatted (http VS https), some Oxford Journals are popping up error messages on and off campus.

Hopefully, this will be resolved soon.

In the meanwhile, report problems to us via our Help Form. A work around (on campus only) is to take the problem URL in the error message, for example:

http://ezproxy.library.ubc.ca/login?url=https://jiplp.oxfordjournals.org/

…and use just this part of it:

https://jiplp.oxfordjournals.org/

BUT this only works on campus.
