We in Library Systems are just as excited as anyone else by the possibilities of the new Apple iPad and how it might be used in the Library by users and staff. Naming issues aside, it’s a nifty new interface. But is isn’t the only one. We are working to provide a method for receiving and evaluating requests for new technology (hardware or software) so that we can make informed decisions about the costs, support, maintenance, usability, and, ultimately, the success of anything new. We’d love to hear your ideas or comments.
