Taylor & Francis ebooks:
UPDATE: PROBLEM RESOLVED.
Please clear the history (cache & cookies) from your browser if you had a recent problem with Taylor & Francis ebooks.
Off-Campus access via EZproxy is down. We are working on it. Stay Tuned!
Occasionally, on the Taylor & Francis ebook site, you will see a title that says “This title is not available for sale” and you will not have access to the full text.
We apologize for any confusion this causes.
We try to only list in the Catalogue and Summon ebooks that have full-text access. However, the title list we use is not pre-sorted to identify the “not for sale” titles from Taylor & Francis (this site also includes CRC Press, Routledge and several other imprints). so, we do not know which of the over 120,000 ebooks have been withdrawn until someone comes across this message.
If you find a T&F ebook like this, please report it via our Help Form and we will remove it and advise on an alternative source (if available) for the title.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Taylor & Francis Online (Journals website) will be unavailable Friday, December 1, 2017 from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
From Taylor and Francis: “This is due to a scheduled improvement to the platform infrastructure.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and our developers will be working as quickly as possible to deploy the release.”

*This Issue Resolved*
Access to a number of Taylor & Francis ebooks online has been dropped. The links will still take you to the ebooks, but when you try to read one online, the message says:
“Sorry, you do not have access to this book. A subscription is required to access the full text content of this book.”
We hope to have this resolved by late Thursday afternoon. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Taylor & Francis Online will be down for maintenance Wednesday, January 25th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm PST.
From Taylor & Francis:
Dear Customer,
Taylor & Francis Online: database maintenance, Wednesday 25th January
I’m writing to let you know that Taylor & Francis Online will be unavailable from Wednesday 25th January (23:00 GMT) to Thursday 26th January (03:00 GMT). This is due to scheduled database maintenance by our platform partner, Atypon. We anticipate this maintenance will take four hours.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you or your users.
To our patrons having problems accessing “Geographies of Globalization” on MyiLibrary, here is an alternate link [NOTE: this link will be functional as of February 1st]:
Now, there are a few restrictions on access to this ebook (set by the publisher, not us):
Access controls on this title is protected with DRM, which means:
- • An online user session of 120 minutes per book
- • up to 5 concurrent accesses per book for subscriptions, and one concurrent access per book for titles under perpetual ownership (so, please don’t leave the ebook sit on your computer if you are not reading it)
- • a print allowance of 30 pages per user session
- • a copy/paste allowance of 1000 words per user session
- • offline (downloaded) copies valid for 3 days (print/copy/paste disabled). The validity period of downloaded copies may vary from institution to institution.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
*NEW UPDATE* EZproxy is working. All access problems should be solved now.*
Many ejournals formerly on Informaworld are moving to a new Taylor & Francis platform. Unfortunately, there has been a glitch (well, two):
1) Some URLs are not working (this should be fixed after July 6th)
2) Some articles that we should have access to are asking UBC patrons to pay.
We hope to get the second problem sorted soon, but no time line at present. Stay tuned.
