"I do not like the Coke junk food and drink machines which promote an unhealthy consumerism lifestyle. For a university that promotes sustainability it is seems very hypocritical to be installing such machine in new facilities."

Hahah are you serious?
You're a pretty funny guy Thomas.

Love it, good place to study. Unfortunately, whoever designed the place did not think things through when designing the silent study room. The room connection to the area when filled with loud jackasses mean that their laughters and conversation echoes into the silent study room. Might reconsider studying at the bottom level quiet area if see morons "studying" in the adjacent room.

Furthermore the space is very warm and inviting unlike the dark cold feeling of the previous space. It is nicely lit and visible from the outside which makes it very attractive.

I was amazed when i saw the new space. It it much more open and social which can be a good thing if you are doing group studying but is sometimes bad when trying to study alone. I do not like the Coke junk food and drink machines which promote an unhealthy consumerism lifestyle. For a university that promotes sustainability it is seems very hypocritical to be installing such machine in new facilities.

I was wondering how EZproxy works. I have a program that allows me to search for journals (called papers) and wante dto know the proxy settings = address that I can use to access the UBC EZproxy journals through.

I have not been able to connect to the UBC library at all using the EZproxy system. Each time I load a journal it tells me I need to subscribe.

Look forward to hearing back from you,

The basement has always looked extremely drab and dinghy, so I'm very pleased that it's finally given the ok for a renovation! It needs to look more homely (get rid of those big old oak desks and uncomfortable chairs) and bring in more of the type of furniture that bedecks the ILC. Comfort and practicality is priority! The computer need to be replaced with flatscreens and cleaner keyboards.

The basement should offer photocopying in addition to printing service.

Upgrade the teaching lab (it's still good to include that in the library).

Better lighting-fluorescence is less eye-straining and better for studying overall.
