Growing up in Uganda, I was exposed to a multitude of cultures and human experiences. All the different cultures of people I met were unique and fascinating. Observing and listening to the experiences of these groups taught me to respect and consider people who were different from me. However, this image was in itself very limited because almost all of these were African. I had a yearning to learn more, to understand more. This fascination attracted me to the University of British Columbia where I have tremendously expanded my knowledge. At UBC, I have been exposed to more cultures than I imagined, to more global challenges than I thought possible.
