DEFINITION: Eagerness to take on new tasks and/or environments, to challenge perceptions and to engage in reflective thought to identify learning.

LOOKS LIKE:

  • demonstrate willingness and ability to engage in learning about the social and cultural issues with which one feels unfamiliar or uncomfortable.
  • embrace and respect diversity in all its forms.

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:

  • In what ways has my involvement in UBC Peer Programs challenged me to learn about social and cultural issues that are outside my comfort zone?
  • What are the benefits and challenges of working in a diverse community?
