Math and Science Fair at UBC Faculty of Education
Can you think of a teacher who affected your life through motivation and inspiration? Maybe it was a science teacher who shared with you exciting science experiments or encouraged you to participate in a local Science Fair! Maybe it was a mathematics teacher who brought fun mathematics puzzles and games to class and encouraged you to find out how the mathematics you learn in class can help you answer the most important real life questions. And, what about a science teacher who taught you the importance of experimentation, curiosity and perseverance? Great teachers inspire their students to become lifelong learners. Great teacher educators inspire their student teachers to be the best they can to help every student to reach his/her potential. Science and Mathematics Educators and students from the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy, Teacher Education Program and the rest of the Faculty of Education community at UBC invite guests from 5 to 105 years old to help us celebrate “UBC Celebrate Learning Week”. The event will focus on exciting hands-on and minds-on mathematics and science activities suitable for all those with curious and inquiring minds. Parents, children and teachers are welcome to attend!
