Dr. Slaymaker’s research can be summarized into the following categories:

Mountain geomorphology and hydrology
Land use impacts
Sustainable development
Global environmental change

The use of watersheds or drainage basins is a fundamental unit of enquiry for the understanding of natural landscapes and landforms. The main research objectives are to improve the conceptual and theoretical foundation of basin analysis to better understand interactions and future scenarios of development in mountain regions. Papers listed below contain different aspects of these categories.
