Breakout Sessions

People attending the open retreat are invited to participate in the breakout sessions as presenters or participants.  The goal of these sessions is to provide an informal environment where participants can share, discuss and receive feedback on teaching challenges, ideas and research projects

Each small-group breakout session will have 4 or 5 presenters plus additional participants. Presenters will each have 30 minutes to present their work and receive feedback from the rest of the group.  We recommend keeping the presentation short (<15 mins) to allow for a more extended discussion with the other participants.

The breakout sessions are a great opportunity to receive valuable feedback from a new audience on a teaching idea or research project at any stage, from inception through to dissemination. The audience expertise will skew toward Physics and Physics Education Research, but presentations and participation from people in any STEM teaching field are invited and welcome.

Participants interested in participating in the breakout session as a presenter will be asked to provide a short description (<4 sentences) of their planned presentation when registering.
