Timeline

Following podcasting’s discemination across Canada is an odyssey of invention and innovation.

Early-adopters appeared in cities large and small: from Charlottetown to Whitehorse to Vancouver.  Many of them were simply excited about the ability to record and relay their own audio creations on the internet.  They weren’t podcasting to reach anyone in particular.  Many were surprised when they realized how many people were actually listening to their podcasts.

Canada’s earliest podcasters were tech saavy people who were interested in technology and wanted to give this new medium a try.

Using the timeline below you can follow the progression of podcasting in Canada from the very first podcast through to the beginning of 2007.  The timeline includes almost 500 podcasts.
