Prolegomena is the undergraduate philosophy journal published by the University of British Columbia Philosophy Students’ Association. Although Prolegomena has always been an open access journal, it has been re-launched this year as a blog interface to allow readers to engage in critical discussion online about the articles posted.
We are currently accepting submissions for our 2012 journal. Papers on a wide range of philosophical issues, including book reviews of philosophical works published in the last five years, are welcome from undergraduate students at any post-secondary institution. Submissions should be sent via electronic mail to philosophy.students.ubc@gmail.com by April 6, 2012 and should adhere to the guidelines detailed below.
Submission guidelines:
- Online submissions only;
- Citations in standard, consistent style (APA style preferred);
- In separate document, please include brief biographical information (name, university, year and program of study, philosophical interests);
- Word limit: 1,500 – 5,000 words for articles and 800 – 2,000 words for book reviews.
Submissions are reviewed by the UBC Philosophy Students’ Association editorial board and if accepted, may be returned to the author for corrections if needed.
