To Communicate and Engage

  1. During class, please have available a device with internet access to find articles, contribute to collaborative documents, make notes, engage in a back-channel discussion about the material.
  2. A Twitter account. One of the learning goals for this course is to effectively engage in a scholarly community of inquiry in various ways, including face-to-face and using tools of social media. When it is appropriate to share resources and materials publicly, we will use the social medium of Twitter, with the hashtag #ubcpsyc325 to be able to link our contributions. This is one of the sources of Participation points.
  3. Piazza. To give us a private space for discussion, we will be using Piazza. The system is highly catered to getting you help fast and efficiently from classmates and the Teaching Team. Rather than emailing questions to the teaching team, you are encouraged to post your questions on Piazza. If you have any problems or feedback for the developers, email team@piazza.com. To sync your account up, sign in to Piazza the first time through Connect (by clicking on the big Piazza link on the course homepage), and then use that same link, the mobile app, or the browser version (https://piazza.com/ubc.ca/winterterm22015/psyc3250032015w2/home) for the rest of the term. This is one of the sources of Participation points.
