1 in 5 Canadians will experience a mental illness or issue each year and there are very few families who are not impacted by mental illness in Canada. Mental health issues strike all socioeconomic, educational, and cultural backgrounds. Physical activity such as walking and running, along with social interaction, can have a positive effect on mental well-being, and opening the dialogue on mental illness can help educate people and break down the barrier of stigma.

UBC MHAC is excited to be hosting our 3rd Annual Defeat Depression Run this year and we hope you’ll join us!
