Greetings,
At this morning’s ULAC meeting, information was distributed about the Teaching & Learning Enhancement Fund (TLEF).
TLEF “was created in 1991 to enrich student learning by supporting innovative and effective educational enhancements.” Learn more about TLEF from the website (http://www.vpacademic.ubc.ca/Learning/tlef.htm), which includes helpful information such as the application form, criteria, and proposals that have been funded in the past.
The application procedure for this year is outlined below and is attached as a Word document.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Regards,
Sandra.

Information on the Teaching and Learning Enhancement Fund is available at:
http://www.vpacademic.ubc.ca/Learning/tlef.htm.
If you are interested in applying for a TLEF grant, you should work with the head of your branch/division because of the need to focus on resources, sustainability and how your proposal would support the Library’s Strategic Plan. Budget information in applications must be accurate. Please consult with Darrell Bailie regarding any potential systems costs.
Timelines:
Friday, October 15, 2004
Submit an electronic copy of your draft proposal to Deborah Wilson, Chair of the Reference & Instruction Committee. This will provide the Committee with an opportunity to learn of the various proposals, discuss possible synergies, and provide comments on the proposals in advance of the final applications being completed.
Tuesday, November 2, 2004
The Centre for Teaching and Academic Growth will present a TLEF workshop from 12 noon to 1:30 pm in their Seminar Room. No registration is necessary but space in the room is limited so you may wish to go a little early.
Monday, November 22, 2004
Branch/division heads should submit completed applications to their AUL/UL.
Friday, November 26, 2004
The Admin Group will review applications and prioritize them.
Week of November 29, 2004
Applications will be returned to the applicants for any final changes. Applications will be prepared for signature by the University Librarian, and submission to the VP Academic & Provost Office.
