Gallery: Kitsilano Indian Reserve

As Vancouver grew, its population moved into downtown and Kitsilano, the Indian reserve at the mouth of False Creek was shrunk, stripped of its resources and traversed by a six-lane bridge. Then, the Canadian military moved in.

Eventually, 70 acres of the reserve became public government property. Less than 11 acres of the Kitsilano Indian Reserve is managed by the Squamish Nation today.
