Free English Language Tutoring and Editing for International MBA Students

We know that the MBA is a demanding program. So, we are here to provide high level, reliable and flexible English language support to complement your coursework and help you, as an international student, prepare for placement interviews and the needs of the workplace. Our experienced editors and tutors can help you improve your oral and written communication skills and are available for everything from editing your assignments, resumes and cover letters, to providing one-on-one English language tutoring to fit the needs (and schedule) of your MBA program. The aim of the program is that you should be self-sufficient by the end of period 3.

We strongly encourage you to request an English Language Tutor to help you during your studies. Most tutoring takes place on campus or at a location that is mutually convenient for you and your tutor. To request a tutoring appointment, please click here and send an e-mail with the following information:

  • When you would like to be assigned a tutor, i.e. in the next few days, or in 2 weeks
  • What you would like to work on: general oral or written skills, revision of up-coming or past assignments, interview skills, or specific grammatical problems.
  • How and when you can be contacted: by phone, email etc.

You will receive a reply that will give you the name of your tutor, and provide contact details. You will arrange a time and place to meet directly with your tutor, not through this email.

In the first week of Core, I will also provide you with information regarding our free editing service which will be accessible through Vista for the duration of the Core as well as Periods 1, 2 and 3 of the Post-Core. So keep an eye out for a post early next week explaining how to submit your papers for editing.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about this service, please feel free to contact me at keira.louis@sauder.ubc.ca.

Best regards,

Keira
