Invitation to inaugural meeting of Sauder Strategic Design Club

Hi all:

Am missing seeing you — have been away at Business Innovation Factory Story Summit in Rhode Island http://www.businessinnovationfactory.com/bif-8  and visiting Weatherhead Management School in Cleveland who also have a design/business program in their MBA.

Wanted to invite you to the inaugural meeting of the Sauder Strategic Design Club — next Wednesday October 3 from 5:30-7:00pm in the d.studio — Henry Angus 338.  The idea is to have  a monthly (more or less) studio session where we tackle problems/opportunities initiated from the participants using design processes and techniques to tackle them.

Speaking of techniques — we are just working on putting the final touches on the Techniques Tool Kit — will send a blog when that link is up and running.

Hope to see some of you next Wednesday — realize that you are busy-busy!  Feel free to let me know if you are coming at moura.quayle@sauder.ubc.ca.  Would be good to get a bit of a handle on numbers — am also inviting some Early Career Masters students and the studio class:  Comm 388: Design Strategies for Business Innovation.

Best, Moura

Operations Homework Update

The Operations homework is now posted on Connect>IF Section > Operations Folder.  Recall that the due date for the homework was moved to 15 October at 8:00am, and that your solution must be posted to turnitin.com.  Also, note that it is unlikely that we are going to have time to cover the “Deep Change” article in the Operations 3 class, as there are a number of other topics we need to cover to ensure that you’ll be able to do the homework.  Direct any questions to Tom at tom.mccormick@sauder.ubc.ca.
