Registration Instructions for P2

Just a reminder that registration for Period 2 opens this Wednesday, August 1st, at 4pm Vancouver time. You can download a copy of the P2-P5 schedule in Connect in the Schedules & Registration tab in myMBA Program. Registration on Wednesday is only for P2, registration for P3-P5 will occur in November.

All students must take one section of:
  • BA 562 Creativity
  • BAAC 540 Accounting
  • BAFI 540 Introduction to Finance
  • BAHR 540 Organizational Behaviour
  • BAMA 540 Marketing Fundamentals
  • BASC 540 Operations Fundamentals
  • BA 540 Managerial Economics

Students must then choose to take 2 of the following electives:

  • BAEN 541 Innovation & Entrepreneurship
  • BA 541 Consulting & Strategic Management
  • BAFI 541 Principles of Finance

Which of the electives you choose to take above will begin to narrow down your choice of which Career Track you can complete. Your choices in P2 will narrow your track options to 3: the 2 Career Tracks related to the elective mini-modules above, + PSM. (PSM doesn’t have a specific elective mini-module – BAMA 540 and BASC 540 will serve as the introduction to the PSM Track).

You will have time to change your mind though – registration is ongoing and you can change your elective choices right up until the 1st week of P2. You will learn more about the Career Tracks as you go through P1 and at the information session on October 10th, and you will be able to change your mind as you learn more.

A note on the Creativity sections: Creativity continues through Period 5, so if you are leaning towards a specific Track please consider the following:

  • Students interested in the BINV Track should register in Creativity section 002
  • Students interested in the CSM Track should register in either 001 or 003
  • Students interested in the FIN Track should register in either 001 or 002
  • Students interseted in the PSM Track should register in either 002 or 003
    • These are just recommendations – students will have the opportunity to switch sections of Creativity for P5 when registering in November, depending on what Track they officially choose – taking these recommendations into consideration may just make it less likely you will need to change sections from P2 to P5.

Registration Instructions: You can register: for modules by logging into the SSC with your CWL. There are video tutorials at the bottom left side of the SSC website to guide you on how to register for modules. It is a good idea to log into the SSC ahead of time to familiarize yourself with this process so that you are prepared to register on August 1st.

Waitlists – If a module or section is full, please email askmba@sauder.ubc.ca to get on the waitlist. Students do change their minds as to which module or section they prefer to take, and as seats open up in the full sections we will fill them from the waitlist.
