INNOVATEChina (CEIBS) – Deadline to apply is FEB 24 2013 (Before Midnight Beijing Time)

China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), one of the leading business schools in the world (ranked 15th in the 2013 Financial Times MBA rankings) is hosting an annual student organized school competition called INNOVATEChina on 23-24 March, 2013, and we are inviting the top schools in the world to participate.  Click to view the INNOVATEChina 2013 Invitation Letter.

This year we will host a social entrepreneurship challenge with a positive social impact theme.

Participating teams are required to submit their business plans in PowerPoint format (10 slides)before midnight Beijing Time 24th February 2013 with concise and clear business plans.   Click to access INNOVATEChina 2013 Handbook and INNOVATEChina 2013 Application Form.

Final round at CEIBS campus: Each finalist team will be allowed to revise and submit their business plans until one day before the final phase according to the comments received (23th March 2013). The finalist teams will compete for the champion via two different challenges.

Guest Speaker Eric Guthey: Business Leadership and the Leadership Business Workshop

Eric Guthey is Associate Professor of Intercultural Communication and Management at the Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, where he coordinates the international masters concentration in Leadership and Management Studies.  He has taught in MBA programs in the United States, Denmark, Eastern Europe, and the Pacific Rim. He has published numerous articles and book chapters on leadership, including the 2009 co-authored book, Demystifying Business Celebrity. Eric Guthey’s current research explores the business of leadership development and the market for leadership products and services.

I am pleased to announce that Vancouver will host an International Women’s Day (IWD) event on Friday March 8, 2013, from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Our 2013 International Women’s Day event—centered around the theme, Defining success. Your way.—will focus on developing leaders, empowering and enabling you to thrive. The event will feature thought-provoking guest speakers, skills-building workshops and networking opportunities. These activities are designed to enable you to gain a clearer understanding of what is important to you personally, what you value most and where you derive your greatest satisfaction. In addition, you will be encouraged to demonstrate how to be greater than, and ready to lead in a rapidly changing world.

We know you are busy with exams and getting ready for Global Immersion, this is just a friendly reminder if you have not done so already, to register for this event on COOL and mark it in your calendars!

On Thursday, February 28th, 2013, meet over 100 senior leaders from the Vancouver business community. The Leaders Reception is organized exclusively for our MBAs and is a fantastic opportunity for you to build your network and engage with potential internship employers.  This is the biggest and most prestigious BCC event of the MBA program, and we look forward to seeing you all there.
