Talk by Dr. Jerome Rive, Dean of the IAE Lyon School of Management

Students and Faculty are invited to attend a talk by Dr. Jerome Rive, Dean of the IAE Lyon School of Management at University Lyon 3

Friday, November 22nd at 3:00 – 3:40 pm
Sauder School of Business, Room HA 243

Presentation title:
French perspective on International Business and Management of Multinational Companies

Presentation Summary:
The presentation will be based on a collective undertaking involving 21 members of the International Management team of the IAE Lyon School of Management Research Center which resulted in the publication of a book, edited by Dr. Ulrike Mayrhofer in 2013; « Management of Multinational Companies: A French Perspective ».  The presentation will focus on companies, established or operating in France, which engage in foreign direct investments and own or control added-value businesses in different countries. While multinational management has already been widely studied by scholars, the aim of the presentation is to provide an in-depth reflection over a cross-section of firms that are either French or operate in France. It will show the importance of contextualizing MNC theory and will reveal the variety and complexity of managerial choices when national markets are decompartmentalised.

 About Dr. Jerome Rive
Jérôme Rive was re‐elected Dean of the IAE Lyon, University Jean Moulin Lyon 3 School of Management, for a second five‐year term on June 20, 2013 after having led the IAE Lyon since 2008. The IAE Lyon educates 7 500 students for careers in Management and employs 150 faculty and 75 administrative staff. Since June 2012, Jérôme Rive has been President of the IAE Network, which includes 32 IAEs in France.  Jérôme Rive is a Senior Lecturer and holds a PhD in Management Science in the field of Human Resources. His main interests focus on the development of managerial skills at the international level and on cross‐cultural approaches of management.
