This made me go “ew” “ow” “ugh” and then “oh”.
I think this is a really successful map in that it provokes a kind of visceral response which then makes you consider its intentions and content of revealing a condition of living that I would imagine is unbeknownst to most of us.
Loosely it reminded me of the bed bug registry map, which is also gross but functions as a guide for those of us who have the opportunity to select where we want to live and make an informed choice so as not to have to put our belongings in a freezer or burn them! Bill Bunge’s map, by contrast, reveals the lack of choice.
