Career News | A Big Week for Tech!

Week of Nov.9 – Nov.16, 2017

Congratulations Karan!

Karan and four fellow MBA students won first place this past weekend at UBC’s Reboot Startup Weekend. Reboot Startup Weekend is a unique business competition for UBC Masters students who develop business cases for previously ‘orphaned’ technologies and pitch their plan to a panel of judges.

Here’s what Karan had to say about the weekend, “Reboot startup weekend rebooted my entrepreneurial aspirations, from knowing nothing about a technology to transforming it into a viable business and pitching it in front of real investors and entrepreneurs was a worthwhile experience. Winning it takes it to another level!”

Turn Your Clock Back 1 Hour Sunday

Don’t forget to change your clocks one hour back on Sunday, November 5, 2017 for the end of Daylight Savings Time.

The time change officially takes place at 2 a.m., but usually the change is automatic for most smartphones, computers, tablets and other digital devices.

If you’re still using an analog alarm clock, you’ll probably want to move it back before you go to sleep on Saturday, or immediately when you wake up the next morning.

Avoid being an hour early for Maurice’s class at 8am on Monday – enjoy the extra hour of sleep!
