Please follow the steps below to begin your study permit application.<\/p>\n<p>1. Please see his contact information below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>David Sage<\/strong>, Registered Canadian Immigration Consultant<br \/>\n<strong>Email:<\/strong> intlubc@students.ubc.ca<\/p>\n<p>David works with the <a href=\"https:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/about-student-services\/international-student-advising#international-student-guide\">International Student Advising Team at International House<\/a> but is dedicated to helping RHL students so please reach out to him directly for the quickest response.You can set up a call with David after <strong>making initial contact through email.<\/strong> <strong>In your initial ask, please make sure to include:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Your student number in the subject line<\/li>\n<li>Your name<\/li>\n<li>Your citizenship(s)<\/li>\n<li>All permit and visa expiration dates (if applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Currently in Canada (YES or NO)<\/li>\n<li>If you request specific assistance, please provide detailed information including applicable documents, such as a rejection letter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>3. Other notes about your application:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">Only apply once. If you have already applied manually, it is critical that you do not reapply online as this will only slow the process down<\/span><\/li>\n<li>The RHL Office does not have the expertise to advise on your study permit application. If you have questions, please follow the steps above to contact David at International Student Advising.<\/li>\n<li>The processing times only show the time it took to approve or refuse 80 percent of applications during some time in the past. Processing times in the future may be differ and it is only meant to give a general idea of how long a process takes.<\/li>\n<li>You must have a valid study permit in order to attend classes at UBC.\u00a0 It is not possible to attend classes on a visitor\u2019s visa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p>Before arrival, check your immigration documents to make sure that they are accurate and valid. Please note when they need to be renewed. More information on these topics can be found at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/enrolment\/courses\/registration\/immigration-documents\/study-permits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Study permits<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cic.gc.ca\/english\/study\/index.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Canadian immigration regulations<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 ><a href=\"#healthcare-for-international-s-1\" >Healthcare for International Students<\/a><\/h3><div id=\"healthcare-for-international-s-1\" class=\"accordian-shortcode-content \" ><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #993300;\">All international students must apply for the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/livewell\/health-insurance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BC Medical Systems Plan (MSP)<\/a> <span style=\"color: #993300;\">as soon as they arrive in Vancouver<\/span> as there is a 3 month waiting period for BC MSP to take effect.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/topic.page?id=59DDCB8DB15241D899168C65EE095393\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MSP premiums<\/a> are not included in your tuition and fees.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Until they are covered by MSP, international students are automatically enrolled in UBC's <a href=\"http:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/livewell\/health-insurance\/imed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">iMED<\/a> plan.<\/li>\n<li>All students (both international and domestic) are automatically enrolled in and pay for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihaveaplan.ca\/rte\/en\/UniversityofBritishColumbiaAMSGSS_Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AMS\/GSS extended medical plan.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 ><a href=\"#resources-2\" >Resources<\/a><\/h3><div id=\"resources-2\" class=\"accordian-shortcode-content \" ><\/p>\n<div>\n<h5>International Student Guide<\/h5>\n<p>Find everything you need to know about life as an international student at UBC's Vancouver campus in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/students.ubc.ca\/international\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Student Guide.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h5>English Language Resources<\/h5>\n<p>While at UBC, there is <a href=\"http:\/\/guides.library.ubc.ca\/internationalstudents\/englishsupport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">English language support<\/a> to help you with both spoken and written English.
